The Palestinian resistance factions said descrating Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and Masjid Ourif, and tearing the Holy Quran is a continuing Zionist criminality, aiming to start a religious war that would be dire for the occupation.

In a statement, the factions added: "This dangerous aggressive behavior is unacceptable.... We call for greater association in the areas of Al-Aqsa and togetherness in the face of Zionist extremists and their aggression against sanctity and desecration."

Tweets reacted angrily on social media to the crime of burning settlers to the Holy Quran after they stormed a mosque in the town of Tarmoussa, north of Ramallah, and tweeted the hashtag #Quranisbeingdescrated.
