Maariv – Adapted
Recently, we have seen some idiotic, insulting, and derogatory responses from Israeli cabinet members toward senior US government officials.
As a veteran of the Yom Kippur War, also known as the Ramadan War, I am required to tell ministers that US assistance helped us survive and prevail in all bloody encounters with our neighboring countries, especially on Yom Kippur. I am also aware of the idiotic statement: "Don't worry about Israel, it's strong enough; its economy is one of the best in the world, so our neighbors' reactions can be taken lightly.
The exceptional human quality of Israelis and the relationship with the United States are the two key pillars on which Israel's power is built. In terms of human quality, the government is attempting to create a judicial revolution that separates the populace and fosters deplorable notions about sending our best youth abroad. Human loss is indescribable.
On the topic of relations with the United States, enthusiastic reactions endanger our existence. My teacher, Shimon Pierce, told me how he interrupted himself when, following Pollard's arrest, he received a phone call from the United States Secretary of State, informing him that the administration was considering cutting diplomatic ties with Israel.
