Ismail Haniyeh, the chairman of the Hamas political bureau, called the family of the late Dr. Sabri Ong, the vice president of the Association of Muslim Scholars in Malaysia, and expressed his condolences after Ong's passing.

Haniyeh extolled the virtues of the late man, saying that he was among those who made significant efforts to support the Palestinian cause and the Palestinian resistance in Malaysia, to depart from this life after a long journey in science, advocacy, and jihad, and to end it with a good ending. This was said during a lecture he gave at a mosque in Malaysia.

Haniyeh expressed his condolences to Ong's wife, who supported her husband's advocacy for the Palestinian cause. Through her, he also sent his sympathies and condolences to Malaysian people, scholars and supplicants in general, and those advocating for the Palestinian cause in particular.
