Dr. Mohammed Kuhail, head of the Clinical Nutrition Department at Al-Shifa Medical Complex, confirmed that around 500 patients at the hospital are suffering from malnutrition, with 25 of them in critical condition and in urgent need of intravenous nutrition—facing death at any moment due to the depletion of medical nutrition supplies in Gaza's hospitals.

Kuhail stated that over 200 people, mostly children, have died from malnutrition in the past three months. He emphasized that Gaza currently has zero stock of IV nutrition due to the ongoing Israeli war on Gaza for nearly two years.

He added that more than 20% of the hospitalized cases at Al-Shifa suffer from malnutrition, and over 70% of patients are not receiving proper nutrition due to the severe Israeli blockade on the Strip.
