Ismail Haniyeh, the head of the political bureau of Hamas, made a phone call to President Mahmoud Abbas to follow up on the outcomes of the meeting of the general secretaries held at the end of last month in the Egyptian city of Al-Alamein.

Agreement was reached during the call on the need to expedite the formation of the factional follow-up committee, which will discuss various issues and present its outcomes at the upcoming meeting of the general secretaries.

Emphasis was placed on the importance of advancing steps towards achieving internal Palestinian national unity to enhance the national stance in facing the challenges surrounding the Palestinian issue.
