The Palestinian curriculum in the educational system in East Al-Quds has come under growing criticism after the election of the new Israeli administration, according to the left-wing Israeli organization "Ir Amim," which focuses on Al-Quds issues.
It cited prior governments using the five-year plan to distribute the Jerusalem budget as a need for switching to the Israeli curriculum. She also mentioned an attempt to impose the Israeli curriculum on schools under financial duress.
"The new five-year plan for Al-Quds, approved by the occupation government in August 2023, focuses on facilitating the transition of Al-Quds students to the Israeli curriculum," the association stated.
In addition, the association emphasized that there are only 2,986 classrooms in Al-Quds, and the occupation authority is attempting to impose a distorted curriculum on Palestinian schools there while also threatening to revoke the licenses of schools that are currently operating there.
