According to the Palestinian newspaper Al-Quds, a delegation of senior Palestinian officials arrived in Saudi Arabia yesterday. They will meet with senior Saudi and US officials to discuss issues related to Palestinian demands regarding Saudi normalization contacts with the occupation entity mediated by the US.

The delegation is led by Hussein Al-Sheikh, the secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and the current Minister of Civil Affairs. It was previously known that some Palestinian demands included resuming Saudi financial assistance to the Palestinian Authority (PA), transferring land in the regions to the PA, and establishing an American consulate for Palestinians in the eastern part of Al-Quds.

In this regard, U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken called Palestinian Authority President Abu Mazen yesterday evening. In this call, the Palestinian president requested that Blinken accept the Palestinian Authority's efforts to become a full member of the United Nations and to lift the restrictions placed on Palestinians due to American laws (such as the issue of compensation for the families of the fedayeen operation's perpetrators). He also asked for the opening of the consulate in the eastern part of Al-Quds and the opening of the Palestinian office in Washington, which was closed under the Trump Administration. In addition, the authority's direct assistance program was also negotiated.
