Facebook deleted the account of the Palestinian journalist Tamer Almisshal, host of the Al Jazeera Satellite Channel program "The Hidden is More Immense." This immediately came after Almisshal published an investigation revealing Facebook's intelligence cooperation with the Israeli occupation.
Through the well-known Al Jazeera program "The Hidden is More Immense", Almisshal revealed shocking admissions of the former officer of the Israeli cyber unit of the Shin Bet, "Eric Barbing," concerning the partnership with Facebook to remove anti-occupation content from its platforms.
Barbing highlighted that Israel's objective was not to target specific terminology on Facebook, the most widely used platform in the world, but rather to target full content pertaining to Palestinians and Arabs.
However, his most shocking admission came when he said that cooperation with Facebook extended beyond calls for the removal, limitation, and deletion of content and accounts that supported the Palestinian cause to requests to maintain some posts on the site for intelligence purposes.
