Palestinian-American Institutions Active in Electing Biden

Nov 08, 2020 01:40 pm

The Palestinian institutions in the USA played a key role in the success of the Democrat candidate Joe Biden in the presidential elections whose results were announced yesterday. The institutions led voters’ registration campaigns and encouraged voters as part of alliances formed with the Islamic community’s centers which were concentrated in the indecisive states such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania. Opinion polls showed that 70% of the Muslims’ votes were in Biden’s favor, and that 1,000,000 Muslims voted, breaking a record. Biden’s deputy Kamala Harris stated to a local Arabic-speaking newspaper in Michigan that her administration will resume diplomatic relations with and economic aids to the Palestinians if it wins in an attempt to mobilize Arab and Palestinian votes. Arab and Palestinian activists and directors participated in the elections campaign.
