The American newspaper The Washington Post has revealed that the U.S. administration has presented a new proposal for a ceasefire in Gaza and the release of the remaining Israeli captives.

According to the report, Washington proposed resuming the entry of aid into Gaza and extending the ceasefire for two months in exchange for the release of the remaining Israeli captives, including an American citizen.

The newspaper also noted that Hamas insists on a complete withdrawal from Gaza and a permanent end to the war as a condition for the release of Israeli captives.

Meanwhile, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the reason for the failure of the ceasefire agreement is the government of Benjamin Netanyahu, which violated the terms previously agreed upon with Hamas.
