The Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the Strip has officially entered the first stages of famine, with nearly two million people completely losing food security.
Ismail Al-Thawabta, the office's director, stated that the shutdown of charity kitchens, the halt of humanitarian aid, and the depletion of essential food supplies—due to the closure of crossings—have deprived residents of the bare necessities of life.
He added that crossing closures and fuel restrictions have led to the shutdown of dozens of bakeries, water wells, and a near-total collapse of the transportation sector.
Al-Thawabta warned that the coming days will be catastrophic if the occupation’s aggression does not cease and the crossings are not immediately reopened.
