Haaretz: Occupation to Increase Settlement Activity Before Biden's Appointment

Nov 12, 2020 12:18 pm

Haaretz Newspaper revealed that the Israeli occupation’s government requested from Al-Quds Municipality and the so-called Israel Land Authority to double the efforts on the settlement establishment in one of Al-Quds neighborhoods outside the 1948 occupied Palestine before Joe Biden takes the constitutional oath as president next January. According to the Newspaper, the occupation is preparing for the worst-case scenario of freezing the settlement establishment activity especially after the diplomatic crisis that took place in 2010 when Biden was Obama’s vice president and visited the occupied lands of 1948 to resume political talks with the Palestinians. The Planning and Construction Committee published the plan of establishing 1800 settlement units in Al-Quds, which enraged Biden who considered it an insult to him. The Israeli right recently criticized PM Netanyahu claiming he had not constructed enough settlements during Trump’s term.
