The official spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense, Mahmoud Basal, revealed details of the massacre that targeted members of the Civil Defense and Palestinian Red Crescent teams in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

Basal stated that the Israeli occupation deliberately and systematically targeted ambulances and Civil Defense vehicles, which were clearly marked with visible insignia. The vehicles were heavily shelled and attacked with artillery fire, and some victims' bodies were intentionally buried under the rubble using occupation bulldozers.

He emphasized that the occupation forces attempted to cover up the crime with false claims, alleging that the victims were resistance fighters. Moreover, Israel rejected all coordination efforts through the United Nations and the Red Cross, preventing any attempts to rescue the wounded or retrieve the bodies.

The massacre took place amid a sudden siege of Rafah, during which the occupation forces killed civilians trying to flee the area.

The Civil Defense confirmed that the occupation destroyed the only ambulance in Rafah and the only fire truck in the Tel Al-Sultan area, as part of a systematic targeting of humanitarian teams' resources.
