The UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process and the Coordinator for Humanitarian and Reconstruction Efforts in Gaza, Sigrid Kaag, stated that over 60,000 children under the age of five in the Gaza Strip are suffering from malnutrition.
Kaag added that humanitarian workers are facing a shortage of essential equipment needed to carry out their operations, and the fuel required to run hospitals has been depleted, leading to a disruption in the distribution of humanitarian aid.
She emphasized that international law obliges Israel to allow the delivery of humanitarian assistance to Gaza, stressing the urgent need for aid to reach the population without delay.
