UNRWA: 1 in 5 Children in Gaza Suffers from Malnutrition

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned that one in every five children in Gaza is suffering from malnutrition, with the number of cases increasing daily.

In a statement, UNRWA confirmed that the majority of people in Gaza lack access to food and healthcare, and that persons with disabilities are particularly suffering due to limited support.

The agency called for the entry of aid trucks currently stranded in Jordan and Egypt so that humanitarian assistance can be delivered to the starving population in Gaza.

Since March 2, 2025, the occupation has closed all crossings into the Gaza Strip and has prevented the entry of most food and medical aid, leading to a widespread famine in the territory.
