New Talks to End the War on Gaza

A member of Hamas' political bureau, Bassem Naim, revealed details of the movement’s delegation talks in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with mediators to reach an agreement and end the war on the Gaza Strip.

Naim stated that the movement’s delegation is currently in Cairo to discuss ways to end the Israeli aggression on Gaza, open the crossings to allow the entry of humanitarian aid, and to discuss mechanisms for activating the Community Support Committee.

This comes at a time when U.S. President Donald Trump’s envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, informed the families of Israeli captives in Gaza—whom he met—that “there is a very serious deal under discussion, and it’s a matter of just a few days.”

According to the Hebrew-language site Walla, the prevailing understanding is that Trump has given Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu only a few weeks to continue the fighting, after which he will call for an end to the war and move toward a comprehensive deal.
