The Government Media Office in Gaza has warned that “the Gaza Strip is on the brink of mass death due to the expanding famine.”
The office stated that the famine is worsening, threatening the lives of one million children, while vital sectors are collapsing under a suffocating siege. The occupation has completely closed the crossings and has prevented the entry of food and humanitarian aid for 55 consecutive days.
It reported that 52 people have died from hunger and malnutrition, including 50 children, while more than 60,000 children are suffering from severe malnutrition.
The office added that Gaza’s infrastructure has entered a state of complete collapse. Thirty-eight hospitals are out of service due to Israeli bombardment, arson, or direct destruction. Additionally, over 90% of water and desalination stations have ceased operations due to the lack of fuel and systematic Israeli destruction.
It also noted that all bakeries in the Gaza Strip have completely shut down due to the absence of flour and fuel.
