Qatari Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani announced that negotiations for a truce in the Gaza Strip have not ceased.
Al Thani explained that Qatar continues to coordinate with Egypt and other partners to move toward the second phase of the truce agreement in Gaza.
Qatari and Egyptian mediators had previously presented a new proposal, which includes a long-term truce in the Gaza Strip lasting between five and seven years, along with a prisoner exchange deal under which Hamas would release all Israeli captives in exchange for the occupation releasing a number of Palestinian prisoners, according to Arab media reports.
The proposal also includes an end to the war and a complete Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip.
