Israeli Army Calls Up Tens of Thousands of Reservists to Expand the War

The Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported that the Israeli army has begun calling up tens of thousands of reservists for military service, aiming to expand its war on Gaza and carry out operations in the West Bank, Lebanon, and Syria.

The paper noted that many officers and soldiers have declared their refusal to comply with military service. Meanwhile, the army has presented the political-security cabinet with phased combat plans for Gaza, including the evacuation of the Al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis — an area previously designated as a “safe zone” for displaced Palestinians — claiming it has become a haven for resistance fighters.

The plan includes setting up a large tent camp in the Tel Al-Sultan area of Rafah, in southern Gaza, to relocate the displaced after subjecting them to inspection procedures.

In a separate context, Israel’s security services reportedly estimate that the government must allow humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip, contradicting recent statements by ministers vowing to block its entry.
