U.S. Pressure on Israel Limited to Aid Only

According to the Lebanese newspaper Al-Akhbar, U.S. pressure on Israel to stop its war on the Gaza Strip has been limited solely to humanitarian aid.

The newspaper reported that the indirect negotiations between the Israeli occupation and Hamas in Doha have completely halted due to the faltering negotiation track and fading hopes for reaching a new deal on prisoner exchange and a ceasefire. This is largely due to Israeli intransigence and its refusal to commit to ending the war, alongside the absence of any serious pressure from the U.S. administration.

The report also noted that Israel is moving towards expanding its ground operation in Gaza, as evidenced by the deployment of a new military division into the Strip and active operations in the strategic Morag corridor in the southern part of the enclave.
