Humanitarian Catastrophe Due to Shortage of Anesthesia Supplies in Surgeries

The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) has warned of a humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip due to a severe shortage of anesthesia supplies in hospitals, which has led to children regaining consciousness during surgical operations.

UNRWA held the Israeli occupation responsible for preventing the entry of medical and humanitarian supplies, and called for the urgent opening of safe corridors to allow for the widespread delivery of aid.

In the same context, Inger Ashing, CEO of the international organization Save the Children, described the situation in Gaza as "the worst in the world for children," stating that children now wish for death and paradise rather than education and work, due to the loss of hope and the absence of basic living conditions.
