According to Al-Quds Al-Arabi newspaper, after multiple rounds of remote communication between ceasefire mediators and both Hamas and the Israeli occupation government, a senior Hamas delegation is currently holding meetings in Cairo to discuss ways to overcome the obstacles preventing a new ceasefire agreement. The talks are centered around the latest U.S. proposal, which includes a 60-day truce during which prisoner exchange deals would take place.
Although Hamas has not officially confirmed sending a delegation to Cairo or announced any new developments, the Chinese news agency Xinhua reported that the movement has agreed to a ceasefire deal with Israel, and that its delegation has arrived in Cairo to negotiate and establish a timeline for implementing the agreement.
