The Israeli Broadcasting Authority “Kan” reported that the Prime Minister of the Israeli occupation government, Benjamin Netanyahu, expressed his willingness to accept an expanded settlement within the ceasefire negotiations and the prisoner exchange deal with Hamas, which would include a broader withdrawal of army forces from the Rafah area.
According to a source familiar with the details of the negotiations, Israel presented new maps to the mediators showing the deployment of its forces during the truce period, in an attempt to narrow the gaps in the talks.
The source added that the pressure exerted by the mediators, particularly regarding the withdrawal maps, has reached its peak in recent hours, amid initial indications of progress, although a real breakthrough has yet to be achieved.
