The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) reported that over 80% of people with disabilities in Gaza have lost access to essential assistive devices such as wheelchairs, hearing aids, and walkers.
In a recent report, OCHA stated that the absence of these basic tools has deprived thousands of their minimal rights to mobility and access to services, leaving them at heightened risk—particularly from unexploded ordnance scattered in residential areas, which is difficult to avoid without assistive equipment.
The Israeli assault on Gaza, supported by the U.S., has so far resulted in over 197,000 Palestinians killed or injured, along with thousands missing and hundreds of thousands internally displaced.
