The acting director of UNRWA affairs in the Gaza Strip, Sam Rose, stated that airdropping aid is a costly, dangerous, and humiliating option, stressing that the real problem lies in the access system and border crossings.
Rose emphasized that airdrops divert attention from the real solution, which is opening Gaza’s crossings to allow the continuous entry of aid trucks. He pointed out that what is needed is the safe, large-scale entry of aid trucks through the United Nations, including UNRWA.
Since March 2, the occupation has closed the Strip’s crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical supplies, goods, and fuel, causing a severe deterioration in humanitarian conditions.
