The Israeli Broadcasting Authority reported that the occupation government is considering reducing the water supply to northern Gaza and repairing two water pipelines to the south of the Strip in preparation for displacing Palestinians from Gaza City as part of its plan to fully occupy the territory.

The use of thirst comes in addition to starvation and the obstruction of sufficient humanitarian aid delivery to the Strip, serving as yet another weapon in Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza.

Since January 2025, Israel has cut off water from the Mekorot Company, which, according to a previous statement by the Government Media Office in Gaza, had been the last “main source supplying Gaza governorates with water.”
