The foreign ministers of Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Slovenia, and Spain condemned the latest Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and Israel’s declared intention to establish a permanent presence in Gaza City.

In a joint statement, the ministers affirmed that “the escalation of military operations is causing the killing of innocent Palestinian civilians, particularly women, children, and the elderly, and puts the hostages at risk.” They denounced the forced displacement of Palestinians, describing it as a blatant violation of international law.

They added: “We are shocked by the confirmation of famine in Gaza Governorate, according to the IPC food security classification, and by the risk of diseases spreading to surrounding areas in the coming weeks.”
