The Israeli Army Radio reported that local teams from Gaza, along with international organizations, have begun renovation and reactivation works at the European Hospital in eastern Khan Younis, southern Gaza Strip, to serve as an alternative to hospitals in Gaza City in case the evacuation plan for the city is carried out.
According to the report, the European Hospital is located in an area where Israeli forces plan to maintain control, meaning that access to it will be via designated routes currently being opened by the army between the Al-Mawasi area and the hospital. The Al-Mawasi zone is also set to be expanded eastward to accommodate additional numbers of residents expected to be displaced.
The radio further noted that the Israeli army is preparing a similar access route to the Emirati Hospital in Rafah, alongside plans to establish field hospitals in areas where Gaza City residents are to be relocated.
