The New York Times newspaper reported that Abdul-Fattah Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, warned the US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo of suspending normalization if the US Congress does not approve granting Sudan immunity from lawsuits filed by September 11 victims by the end of this December. Pompeo promised Burhan of the Congress’ approval of the immunity act the coming weeks. However, a dispute has been going in the Congress on the act as the democrat Senator Robert Menedez and Chuck Schumer opposed the act. The newspaper said that Trump’s administration is planning to hold an official signing ceremony between Sudan and the Israeli occupation this month.
