The Israeli channel i24 announced the start of preliminary preparations to build a new city called the “Green Zone” for Palestinians in eastern Rafah, noting that those who will enter the new city are residents of Gaza, not members of Hamas.

It added that Israeli ministers in the Security Cabinet expressed anger over the plan, saying: “Construction should not take place in the yellow zone so that our towns are not put at risk.”

The Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation (Kan 11) reported that “Israel” is preparing to bring heavy machinery into Rafah to begin a large-scale operation to clear the rubble in order to prepare the land for the project.
