Ghassan Daghlas, an official who monitors settlement activities in the northern West Bank, said to the official agency that the Israeli occupation’s forces had notified of the grabbing of hundreds of donums of several villages such as Burin, Madama, and Asira al-Qibliya for the expansion of Yitzhar settlement, and construction of new settlement units and a road for the settlers’ use. He added that the occupation is treating the settlement as a town, and is planning for altering the classification of the lands from being agricultural to residential for the settlement expansion. Daghlas highlighted how such actions reflect the grabbing of more lands and increase in the restrictions imposed on the Palestinians living in the southern countryside of Nablus.
