Michael Lynk, the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory, urged the Israeli occupation in his report to the Human Rights Council to stop the collective punishment of the Palestinian people under the pretext of protecting its security and the latter's containment of Hamas; deeming such punishments as an insult to justice and the law.
