Where is the Peoples’ Response to Normalization?

I am neither shocked nor surprised to see the normalization agreements with the Israeli occupation happening openly. Nothing has truly changed; the only difference is that we will hear from official media about the respected and nice friend ‘Israel’ after having heard the regimes sometimes saying they would not stop until they end the Israeli occupation.

Insightful people knew well that several countries were well-connected with the Israeli occupation, and the empty talk about Palestine and Al-Quds was to mislead the Palestinian people and their own communities as well.

As for how I feel, I am very pleased to see the masks falling off and the real faces behind appearing to the nation. These people will no longer fool us. This will be the beginning of a new stage, one that is necessary for the liberation of Palestine.

What I truly want to point to is the position of the peoples on such tyranny. It is definitely far from the actual threat, so where are the Arabs’ reactions and responses to single-handedly-made decisions on crucial issues?

Cannot the popular commissions, parties, unions and national institutions stand up against the decisions of the political class? The one which will inflict our countries with more sufferings, poverty, and political, economic and social issues.

We have seen conferences, press releases, and online activities against normalization. However, this constitutes a small part of the whole program that should be designed against the threats and dangers of normalization. If the countries do not function within a comprehensive plan in which the entire society contributes politically, culturally, economically, socially and journalistically; such releases and publications will remain fruitless.

We must no longer stand silent nor depend on the leaders and politicians who continue to mislead their peoples until this day. It is strange to hear the countries which have normalized with the occupation say, “Normalizing with ‘Israel’ will not be at the expense of the rights and struggle of the Palestinian people”. What is even stranger is hearing the Moroccan Justice and Development Party, which has Islamic orientation, repeat this statement or other similar phrases in its press releases.

The Party should explain to us how this can be. The interests that are shared among these leaders and the American and Israeli leadership were the real reason. They made the UAE, Bahrain, Sudan and Morocco violate the Arab League’s Resolution in 2020 that prevented the establishment of any relations with the Israeli occupation until the establishment of a Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital, and the occupation’s withdrawal from the 1967 occupied lands.

They were never concerned about Palestine. It is irrational for a person, a party or a country to move from one extreme to the other without hiding something and that is the case with a lot of Arab regimes.

From now until the end of Trump’s term, it is likely we witness more Arab countries racing to shake hands with the Israeli occupation. The biggest beneficiary from all of this is PM Benjamin Netanyahu who has been fighting to stay in office and escape the corruption charges.

What these leaders do not understand is that the future of the occupation is annihilation. Netanyahu is living his final days. This is their business. This is the road they chose. Our job is to oppose the policy of changing terms and values, and to defend our future and the coming generations’.

Palestine is not the only target. All Arab and Islamic capitals are also a target. If our peoples do not make a move to protect their existence now, when will it be then?
