Al-Akhbar newspaper reported from a Palestinian source that the Palestinian factions will carry out the first joint field maneuver titled “Ar-Rukn As-Shadid” ('Powerful Support' referring to the verse in surah Hud).

This maneuver is set to identify the targets of the Palestinian resistance in wars and to expand the level of confrontation and exercise military pressure on the Israeli occupation.

It is also meant to unify the names of battles and military statements under the joint operation room of the resistance factions. Most importantly, it will achieve integration among the military battles in order to convey signs of deterrence to the occupation regarding the assets and development of the resistance.

The newspaper said that this maneuver will be carried out periodically and when necessary to assess the preparedness of the resistance and its ability to coordinate among its factions.

Israeli media outlets took notice of the maneuver announcement as the occupation’s military bodies will be closely observing.

Elior Levy, author at Yedioth Ahronoth, said that the maneuver is a response by Hamas to the huge maneuver of the occupation’s army weeks ago. He also expects the holding of a press conference during the maneuvers and allowing the outlets to cover some military locations.
