The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor affirmed that Israel's media maneuver regarding the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip is deceptive and contradicted by the reality on the ground.
The Monitor stated, "The Israeli army claimed yesterday to have initiated a series of steps to improve the humanitarian response in Gaza, but the actual situation on the ground was completely different."
It explained that the Israeli forces allowed only 73 trucks to enter Gaza yesterday, along with three airdrops carrying the equivalent of two truckloads. All of these were forced to stop in red zones designated for evacuation by the Israeli army. The Monitor stressed that humanitarian organizations responsible for managing and distributing the aid did not receive any of these trucks.
The human rights organization also noted that most of the aid trucks were looted by organized gangs amid a complete absence of security protection, due to the repeated Israeli targeting of security personnel.
