Friedman Encourages Occupation to Prevent Reopening of US Consulate in Al-Quds

The Israeli Walla website mentioned that David Friedman, the outgoing US Ambassador to the occupation, opposed the reopening of a US consulate general in occupied Al-Quds in a hearing of the foreign relations and security committee in the Knesset.

He said that reopening the consulate did not serve the American interests. It would level up the American diplomatic representation of the PA, and stand as a symbol for the American Administration’s recognition of the Palestinian demands in parts of the occupied Al-Quds.

The website said that reopening the consulate general requires approval from the occupation’s government and that the latter’s disapproval would lead to great tension with the new Administration at an early stage of Biden’s term.
