The citizens of Qalqilya in the occupied West Bank participated in the funeral of the martyr Maher Sa’sa’, 45, who died on January 20th in the occupation’s prison as a result to medical negligence. The participants in the funeral repeated slogans angrily against the occupation and its oppressive measures against the Palestinians and prisoners.
Lafi Nassoura, Director of the Prisoner’s Club in Qalqilya, said that the prisoner’s martyrdom is a crime that cannot go down silently. He urged the UN and other human rights organziations to stop the occupation’s crimes and protect and enable the Palestinian people to establish an independent state with Al-Quds as its capital.
The martyr suffered from different diseases and was sentenced 25 years in prison having served 16 of them. He is married and father of 6 children.
