Dialogue Date in Cairo

Mar 08, 2021 02:30 pm

Maher Mizhir, leader in the Popular Front, told Shehab local news that the Palestinian dialogue that is taking place in Cairo will be held on March 16-17. The participants will include the National Council, elections’ committee, and the factions’ secretaries-general. The Popular Front will take part in the dialogue as well.

He also said the dialogue will address the elections file, the restructuring of the political system in Palestine, and separation of authorities (basically the PLO as a political reference and the PA as a functional entity).

Mizhir said that the dialogue will discuss holding the National Council elections in locations where Palestinians cannot hold them.

As for alliances in the coming legislative elections, Mizhir said that the Popular Front has not made its decision yet, and pointed to having a serious talk on forming a popular and national left bloc.
