The Hamas movement officially announced the arrival of a senior delegation, headed by Khalil Al-Hayya, to the Egyptian capital, Cairo, to hold meetings starting today. The discussions will focus on ways to end the war on Gaza, allow humanitarian aid in, and alleviate the suffering of the people in the Strip.

Tahir Al-Nunu, a Hamas official currently in Cairo, said the delegation has begun preliminary talks focusing on halting the war, facilitating the entry of aid, and addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The discussions will also cover internal Palestinian affairs to reach national consensus on key political issues, as well as bilateral relations with Egypt and ways to strengthen them.
