Press sources said that PM Benjamin Netanyahu along with a large number of settlers invaded the historic village of Susya village in Masafer Yatta in south Hebron under strict security measures. The entire region was closed down and was announced a closed military zone. Checkpoints were also established to prevent the press and demonstrators from reaching the village.
Tens of citizens demonstrated against Netanyahu’s invasion. Foad Al-Amour, Coordinator at Protection and Sumud Committee, told local Safa news agency that tens of settlers, activists, representatives and foreigners demonstrated near the village. He added that the occupation forces tried to break the protestors apart and fired teargas and sound bombs at them before completely closing down the area.
Susya is continuously targeted by the occupation, its people are always forced to leave, the homes are demolished and the lands are bulldozed.
