Benny Gantz, entity’s Minister of Defense, cancelled the weekly government meeting because the Likud, led by Netanyahu, rejected to appoint a permanent Justice Minister which would damage the rule of law and democracy.

The Likud stated that Gantz prevents signing of contracts for the millions of vaccines required for the coming vaccination because of the Likud’s rejection of making the necessary appointments of officials. If the government does not immediately approve the contracts concluded by Netanyahu, the vaccine companies might cancel and send them to other states.

Avichai Mandelblit, the Attorney General of Israel, called Netanyahu and Gantz for the appointment of permanent ministers to serve as acting ministers, especially the Minister of Justice because if they do not do so, the government and ministers would be adversely affected.
