A senior source in gas distribution companies in the Gaza Strip revealed that “a meeting will be held today to discuss the entry of cooking gas into Gaza,” after five months of closed crossings and a ban on its supply.
The source said the meeting will be held between the Israeli side and representatives of gas companies, adding that matters will become clearer, with expectations of allowing gas entry.
The Gaza Strip has been suffering from a severe crisis due to the complete lack of cooking gas as a result of the continuous closure of crossings since last March.
Before the blockade, the occupation allowed the entry of 10 trucks daily, loaded with 200 tons of gas—less than half of the quantity the Strip actually needs.
Palestinians resort to using fire by purchasing quick-burning wooden boards, which do not last long, in addition to causing health and environmental problems and respiratory diseases.
