Channel 12 mentioned that there is a possible scenario about the formation of a government without Benjamin Netanyahu, and the inclusion of the Haredi parties, Religious Zionism, Yamina, Tikva Hadasha, Kahol Lavan – and, maybe, Yesh Atid.
The report said that Naftali Bennett, Gideon Sa’ar and Benny Gantz are heading in this direction, indicating the possibility of Yair Lapid’s involvement in the government even though he is leftist in order to terminate Netanyahu’s rule.
Netanyahu rejected a proposition by close officials asking him to abandon heading the government and run for office in an attempt to end the Israeli political crisis and form the Likud, Haredi and rightist government. The channel emphasized that he preferred to run for PM as Likud leader.
The same channel said that Shas leader Aryeh Deri is hindering the process of forming a right government without the Likud.
Kan 11 said that Gideon Sa’ar, who further coordinated with Bennett after the elections’ results, would join a government headed by Lapid as long as Bennett was a part of it – or else, it would be a leftist government.
On the other hand, Bennett and Lapid both see themselves as more worthy of heading the new government.
