US President Joe Biden's Administration announced giving a new grant to the West Bank and Gaza Strip, worth US $40 million, to increase US assistance to Palestinians. The new grant came as part of America’s new policy with the Middle East contradicting the policy of former President Donald Trump.
The new aid was mainly for law enforcement and security costs in the West Bank and Gaza strip, in addition to $75 million to support infrastructure, health and civil society organizations, and $15 million for the response to the Coronavirus.
In the announcement issued on April 2, the United States Department of State said that supporting a lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict was an important goal of the United States national security.
