Mark Lowcock, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, declared the allocation of $22.5m in response to the increasing humanitarian needs in the Gaza Strip.
He said that the fund covers $4.5m allocations from the Central Emergency Response Fund and $18m from Occupied Palestinian Territory Humanitarian Fund.
Lowcock said that the aggressive attacks resulted in great damage in the infrastructure of Gaza which affected the water and sanitation networks and services. He warned against the shortage in electricity and the damage that hit the MoH's central lab which tests for the Coronavirus, and how they negatively impact the provision of health care in tens of centers in the Strip.
