The Palestinian people has passed through a new round of the conflict. On May 10, the flicker was triggered and continued for 11 days in support of Al-Quds and Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa which has been suffering from Judaizational attempts, and displacement and expulsion of residents for a long time.
The Palestinian resistance engaged with the occupation at military and popular levels through which it reached an honorable outcome and sacrificed 250 martyrs and about 2000 injured in Gaza, the West Bank and the occupied Al-Quds. This outburst marked a significant turning point in the conflict with the occupation in three directions: the objectives, relations, and capability to influence.
As for the objectives, this round confirmed the unity of the Palestinian national belonging, and thwarted the Israeli efforts to dissect the Palestinian lands and isolate them geographically and spiritually. Gaza rose to support Al-Quds and Al-Aqsa, and the West Bank and Al-Quds rose to support Gaza against the Israeli war machine depicting a beautiful national portray that reminded everyone of the dream to return and restored unity.
The occupation's greatest loss in the previous round was the collapse of its deterrence system and fall-apart of the Zionist pride that is based on terrorizing the rivals. The resistance succeeded in influencing the morale of the Israeli community through identifying the hours for truce and hours for opening fire and shutting down airports. It also influenced the political and military decisions through threatening to target Gush Dan, which is the center of the entity's economy and population.
The occupation's other losses included the failure of efforts to abolish the national identity in the West Bank and the occupied lands of 1948. This round of escalation proved that all the Israeli efforts to melt down the Palestinian national identity have failed. This was clear when the Palestinian people stood together and participated in supporting Al-Aqsa as huge numbers rushed to stand in solidarity with Al-Masjid Al-Aqsa and engage with the occupation's forces in support of Gaza against the aggression.
At international and regional levels, the propaganda the occupation has long tried to present to the international community was shaken. After years of work on displaying its power, civilized attitude, moral values, and cultural aspects; and presenting itself as a democratic and modern oasis; everything changed. The pro-Palestine media outlets and social media contributed to the exposure of the occupation's crimes and its ugly face to the misled public.
The last round mobilized lots of advocates to the Palestinian cause from different political, legal, artistic, sport and academic backgrounds; and won the support of the international community.
The occupation is now facing two conflicting paths; one that seeks to restore deterrence and break the resistance' spear in Gaza, which would cost the occupation great field losses that would further affect its deterring power. This is not less important as it will cost the occupation more loss in its position and image and might lead to mobilizing new supporters of the Palestinian cause.
The other path is to beautify its blooded image and barbaric operations against the Palestinian facilities and infrastructure. It needs to beautify its racist image that continues to insult, restrict and alienate the Palestinians in the West Bank and the occupied lands.
This method would force the occupation into reducing its interaction with the Palestinians and focusing on its propaganda that sells the occupation as a prestigious and high-class member unlike the Arab retards and demonic Palestinian national work that is described as 'terrorism'.
Whatever method it follows, whether to restore deterrence or its image, such ambition will fail now as the resistance has started employing military, field, popular and ideological tools that can harm the occupation, shake its image and affect its morale. In addition, world awareness and support are now inclining towards the Palestinian right especially after the Palestinian performance developed in media work and influential platforms.
To sum up, it is no longer strange to say that the occupation's end is approaching, and that the previous round indicates such close future. However, there should be more exertion of efforts to further shake such entity and remove it from the Palestinian land and help the Palestinians win their rights back.Source : PALM Strategic Initiatives Centre
