The Israeli occupation forces broke into Al-Bustan neighborhood in Silwan town in the occupied Al-Quds to demolish 17 houses which were denied permits by the so-called Planning and Building Committee according to Wadi Hilweh Information Center.
The forces closed down all the roads leading to the neighborhood, surrounded the houses, banned movement in the area, surrounded a shop to demolish it, and provided protection for the bulldozers.
The confrontations erupted between the families and the forces that oppressed the residents and fired teargas at them. The soldiers assaulted the youth and pushed them away from the areas intended for demolition.
The forces prevented the journalists from entering the neighborhood and hindered making closer coverage of the houses. However, they managed to film the expulsion of some residents and the demolition of some homes.
Yesterday, the duration the occupation had given to the families of Al-Bustan neighborhood ended. The occupation's so-called municipality will start the demolition and cause the landowners to pay high taxes and demolition expenses.
