Waed Association for Detainees and Ex-Detainees stated that more than 2000 Palestinian detainees decided to start an open hunger strike on Saturday.

Asra Media Office noted that the contact was totally lost with the detainees in section 3 in Gilbou prison, after they poured hot water over one of the jailers as a response to the harsh repressive measures the occupation forces practiced against them.

The prisoners continue to burn wards in Rimon and Al-Naqab prison in protest of the occupation’s distribution of 60 detainees belonging to the Islamic Jihad movement to other sections and cells of other prisons as measures of collective punishment for the escape of six prisoners from Gilbou prison on Monday morning.

The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club noted that the tension is taking over the detainees’ section in the prisons, and the occupation forces is still conducting inspections. It also said that the administration of the occupation prisons transferred one of the detainees into solitary confinement after he had a fight with one of the jailers.
