The Lebanese Al-Akhbar newspaper reported that there are expectations that Egypt's submission of a political initiative for calm between Hamas and the Israeli occupation is based on the US administration's desire not to escalate attacks in the Palestinian lands. It added that Hamas will react positively to this initiative.
