In a statement, Addameer Association for Human Rights said that the occupation prison’s administration is isolating 19 Palestinian prisoners in “extreme conditions” in Negev prison.

The Association quoted one of the isolated prisoners, the prisoner Nabil Mukheer, as saying that they were suffering from extreme conditions of cruelty and indignity, with collective punishment amounting to torture. He added that he and his colleagues had entered section 6 in prison without their personal needs in cells, which were not suitable for human use, about 10 days after the burning of the oath, and that each prisoner was trapped in an empty room whose walls had been opened up.

He reported that prisoners do not go out together to rest in the prison yard, but each prisoner separately, handcuffed and only for one hour.

The association explained that five other prisoners were in isolation cells in the same prison, charged with connection with the operation of the Gilbao prison. Moreover, it reported that one of the five prisoners, Tamim Salem, was living in difficult conditions where prisoners remain handcuffed and legged when they leave the square.

It also called for the Red Cross to visit prisoners, to learn about their circumstances and to put pressure on them by all possible means to lift collective punishment that is degrading to their dignity and dehumanizing them.
